MLK Service To Be Held

FMOBC will hold a service to celebrate the Life and Legacy of  the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The service will be held on January 19, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

1st Sunday, Men wear Black Suit and Red Tie!

On the 1st Sunday of the month, the Men's Choir is asking that all men wear a black suit, white shirt, and yellow tie to show solidarity and unity with the brethren. During the year, the tie color will change to coincide with the tie color worn by the Men's Choir. Also, all men are encouraged to sing with the Men's Choir on 1st Sundays. Christian Reading Material                                                               

Please recycle old copies of Our Daily Bread pamphlet and other similar Christian reading material so that we may share Gods word with our friends in DC. While we are helping to nourish them with food by distributing bag lunches, we would also like to feed their souls. Please drop off donations to the church office and label them: For the Friends in DC.


Feeding our Friends in DC    

The Young Adult Ministry will travel to Washington, DC on 4th Sundays after the morning service to feed our friends. The ministry is requesting your donations. SPECIFIC DONATION NEEDS: hot dogs, hot dog buns, sandwich bread and lunch meat (not just peanut butter), chips, snacks, cookies, crackers granola bars. Dependent on the temperature, we will also serve soup. We always need socks, lotion, deodorant, and other toiletries. Please use these items to guide/inform your much-needed donations. Point of Contacts is Deaconess Beverly Coe-Whiting and Sister Marie Menefee-Campbell. Thank you for your donations. The next outreach ministry will be on December 30th with a 12:30 p.m. departure.

Loudoun County Homeless Shelter Outreach

The Homeless Shelter Ministry Outreach is sponsored by the First Mt. Olive Deaconess. The Deaconess will be serving dinner at the Loudoun Homeless Shelter on the 2nd Saturday in February, April, June, August, October and December. The Missionaries are asking members for their assistance with outreach to Mobile Hope, which supports the needs of homeless children in Loudoun County. They will be collecting food (single portions), personal hygiene products, clothing, and school supplies. A collection bin is in the Fellowship Hall for donations.  Contact Sister Virginia Payne for additional information.

Sunday School explores topics in most age groups relative to Life's Mysterious Journey, Supports Our Personal Relationship with God and helps to Identify one's Purpose here on earth. Sunday School meets 8:30 a.m. each Sunday Morning in the Denny Education Center (Lower Auditorium).
