Rev. Leonard Polk

Rev. Leonard Polk was born in Clanton, Alabama on January 3, 1930. He graduated high school from Calhoun County Training School in Alabama. He married Thelma Wooden in 1954 and they are blessed with eight children, five sons and three daughters. He was called to the Ministry to preach the Gospel, and he became a Licensed Minister on February 3, 1991 under the Pastorship of Rev. Harold Stinger.

Rev. Polk served his country in the United States Army as a Medic for two years. He attended the School of Christian Counselors Association training and became a Licensed Temperament Counselor in 1994. He retired from working with Fairfax County government. He presently works part-time for Distributive Education Council of America (DECA) in Reston, VA.

He has served as Minister of Music at First Mount Olive for nearly 40 years and assists with the Senior Choir. He was formerly a deacon, teacher of Bible studies, and director of First Mount Olive Men’s Chorus. His favorite scripture is Revelation Chapter 21.
